I have been directly involved in the platting of several single-family subdivisions containing several hundred residential lots. In addition, I have developed, built and marketed residential condominiums and investment residential real estate projects.
Within the past ten years, I have done extensive commercial redevelopment work that required many disciplines including: land assembly; zoning; platting; and municipal tax increment financing assistance to a project. These developments now house motels, restaurants, shopping centers, and automotive support services facilities. I have also assisted in similar development on commercial land where growth and demand for commercial facilities did not require redevelopment work. In addition, over the 30+ years, I have brokered and leased many properties through Land’Sake Commercial Real Estate Services.
As a realtor, I maintain my membership in the Minnesota and national realtors associations, as well as Minnesota Commercial Properties Exchange which offers full Internet access to the brokerage community for commercial property listings. In addition, I support the local community through my membership in the Chamber of Commerce and the Southwest Metro Area Sertoma Club, of which I was founding president. I also served as president of the Urban Council on Mobility from 1974 to 1984, which was a citizen, business and community based educational organization formed to research and communicate the benefits derived from the completion of I-494 across the Minnesota River to the Mississippi River, 35E from Burnsville to St. Paul, and Cedar Avenue from Bloomington to Apple Valley. I also assisted the southwest suburbs in developing a similar organization.
I graduated from St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
